SYDNEY AS THE VENUE , GRATIFICATION EXPRESSED , (Received November 6, 12.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 6 A cablegram fom London states that at a meeting, of athletics administrators, including . representatives from England, Sootland, Wales, South Africa, Australia,-New - Zealand, Newfoundland, and Canada, it was unanimously decided that the next Empire Games be held in' Sydney in January, 1938. The announcement has created a stir and great pleasure in sporting and athletic circles in all parts of Australia. Mr. E. S. Marks, chairman of the Australian and British Empire Games Committee, expressed his delight at the "wonderful news." He said he felt sure the games would bo conducted equally as well in as in any other part of the Empire.. There was no doubt that Australia and New Zealand would provide bigger teams, which to some extent would compensate for the smaller teams which must be expected from distant parts of the Empire. Mr. Marks added that a meeting of the full Board of Control would be held in Sydney shortly to draw up a programme and regulations for submission to the Empire Conference to bfr held in Berlin in 1936.
