a w# MR. HAMISH ARMSTRONG SEARCH PARTY'S EXPEDITION HAMPERED WEATHER i [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPOVDEXT] HASTINGS. Tuesday A privately-organised search party. - -3 has been out on the Ruahine Raugej?|f| looking for the body of Mr. Armstrong, the Akitio farmer aeroplane crashed while flying between Dannevirke and Hastings on Augusts A search party of three, comprising Messrs. A. Peers, Henry Barlow, and Stanley Barlow, went up into the hills from the Wakarara end as soon at the weather began to break last month. It was felt that successive showers of rain would melt the snow which covered the foothills and higher ranges. Given good visibility the searchers hoped to find the body of Mr. Armstrong. Unfortunately for the party it re. pcatedly met with low-lying mists and v frequent rains that blanketed tb« ranges. Although the snow was gradu« ally dispersed the rain and fog limited the scope of the searchers, who for al. most a fortnight after beginning their expedition were forced to remain at a rabbiter's whare on the track. They started out again on Sunday, but heavy rain to-day has meant further delay.
As soon as the rain lifts the party of three will be out again.
