HARBOUR BRIDGE
CITY COUNCIL INTENTIONS DENIAL BY DEPUTY-MAYOR The reported statement by Mr. A. Harris, Independent National Government candidate for Waitemata, that the City Council was going to spend £250,000 on the approaches to the proposed Auckland Harbour Bridge was referred to last evening by the deputymayor, Mr. Bernard Martin. \ Mr. Martin said that obviously Mr. Harris was labouring under a misapprehension. No such decision had been made by the council, for the simple reason that the matter had not been discussed by it. The position was that no financial commitments for approaches or any other aspect had been made.
