Pianoforte Recital An interesting programme has been arranged for a pianoforte recital to bo given in the Lewis Eady Hall on Thursday by three pupils of Mr. Arthur E. Wilson, Miss Waveney Tinsley, Miss Isobel Pettit and Mr. Frank Piper, each of whom holds the Performers' Licentiate of the Itoyal Schools of Music. Assisting Artists will bo Clinton Williams, baritone, and Master John Michie, soprano. Classic Club Recital Over 20 performers, including somo of Auckland's most talented artists, will take part in a public recital to be given by the Classic Club in the Lewis Eady Hall on Tuesday night. The programme will include art songs, lieder and instrumental solos. The club was formed early in 1933, its object being to give an opportunity to advanced young students, who wished to perform tho better class of songs and music, of gaining platform experience. Benefit Concert Arranged A large committee of Auckland's theatrical and musical people has been formed to arrange an entertainment to be held in His Majesty's Theatre at the end of November to assist Mr. Jack Gordon, a former Aucklander, whose work in theatrical circles is well-known. Mr. Gordon is now seriously ill in Central Otago. Tho programme, which has not yet been finally decided upoh, will include three items by the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society, one-act plays by the Auckland Little Theatre Society and the British Drama League, a play by Althea Parker's Company, and several instrumental and vocal items.
