POSTPONED THIS SESSION A definite assurance that it was not proposed to proceed with the Companies Amendment Bill this session was received yesterday by the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Gainor Jackson, in a telegram from the Minister of Finance, Mr. Coates. The council of the chamber had sent a telegram to the Government urging that a far-reaching bill should not be put through in the dying hours of the session, without giving the commercial community adequate opportunity to understand the implications of the proposed amendments.
