EARLY GOLDFI ELDS DAYS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Friday A varied career has been the e*" perienee of Mr. Thomas llattrav Fer* gusson, of Hammond Street. Hamilton, who celebrated his 9Sth birthday to* day. He came to New Zealand <-t years ago and sought for gold in Otago. Mr. Fergusson has vivid memories of tin? Gabriel's Gullv rush, in which he toon part. He secured a considerable amount of gold, but did not retain his wealth for long. Ten years ago .Mr. 1-ergusson came to live with his daughter, MrsA. Smith. Ho has three children, Ugrandchildren and live great-grand-children.
