LATE MR. J. H. HAMMOND

fBY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON. Friday There was a large attendance at the funeral at Hamilton to-day of Mr. J. H. Hammond, former branch manager of tlie Hank of New Zealand. A service was conducted in St. Peter's Cathedral by the dean, the Very Rev. T. P. Wcatherhog, who also conducted the service at the graveside. Tho Masonic prayer was read bv the dean. The principal mourners were Messrs. K. H. Hammond and 15. 15. Hammond, brothers, H. M. Hammond, son, and H. 15. Hurr.ill, brother-in-law. Among those in attendance were Bishop Cherrington, the .Mayor of Hamilton, Mr. J. R. Fow, borough councillors, members of tho legal profession and commercial community, and representatives of the Hamilton Howling Club and the Alexandra Lodge. The pallbearers were Messrs. 15. C. Sare, X. G. Sutherland, A. J. Prescott, .J. C. Taylor, 1). Andrews and R. Knplish.
