A GENERAL CHANGE HEAVY FALLS OF RAIN - .. ——— The Government meteorologist issued ' to the Herald last evening the folio** ing special forecast for ths Auckland Province: —The recent anti-cyclone now lies to the east of New Zealand, aad in < extensive and complex depression is an. proac-hing from the westward. The fc r £ cast is for variable winds in the fa r south, otherwise moderate to straw northerly prevailing generally and 15 places reaching gale force. Seas in Xew Zealand waters rough south of Cap® Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate but later rising. Eastern Tasman Seal Strong northerly winds and rough fieas. Tha weather is likelv to be unsettled, cloudy and misty with rain in mgst district* and some heavy falls, SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST MISTY WITH RAIN LIKELY The Government meteorologist isisued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Stronp north-easterly to northerly winds. The weather is likely to be dull and misty with rain. Seaa moderate but rising. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Although the weather continued fine yesterday the conditions; - were overcast and threatening and the fresh north-easterly wind was increasing. Midnigfct, Monday .. .. M,lsin, Wellington.—The weather* was dull and misty during the morning with an occasional light shower. In the aft®, noon the clouds were more broken and conditions were milder. A strong squally north-westerly wind prevailed. The minimum temperature on Monday night was 46.4 degrees and the niaximum yesterday 58.0 degrees. Christchurc-h. —Yesterday was mainly overcast with a maximum temperature of 62 degrees. There was a very light south-westerly breeze in the moraing, changing to a moderate easterly in the afternoon. The barometer was rising slow]\- and was 29.97 in. last evening. Dunedin. —Overcast and threatening weather was experienced yesterday itrita occasional light showers. A light easterhr wind prevailed and the maximum temperature was 57 degrees.
