ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY
PLEA OF GUILTY ENTERED A plea of guilty was entered in tho Supreme Court yesterday by William Brewer, labourer, aged 51, who was charged with escaping from lawful custody at Huntly on June 1 last. Brewer was being taken by train from New Plymouth to Auckland in the charge of a warder when he eluded the warder and jumped off the train near Huntly. Mr. Hunt, who appeared for Brewer, asked that he be remanded for sentence as there were some matters which counsel wished to go into more fully. Sir. Justice Fair remanded prisoner for sentence at a time to bo fixed later.
