Lemon Squash A recipe for lemon squash is asked for by Mrs. A.E.T. (Kumeu). Raisin Sherry G.M. (Dargaville) asks if a reader can supply her with directions for making raisin sherry. Net Curtains Mrs. K.G. (Kaikohe) asks for the best way in which to wash not curtains. Perhaps some reador can tell her. Stained Bath Distressed Housewife. —To clean a bath that is badly stained mako a paste of peroxide of hydrogen and cream of tartar; leave it on for a while and then rinse the bath. It should be found very satisfactory in its results. Orange Wine A short while ago G.M.S. was inquiring for proportions to use in making orange wine with small oranges in place of large ones. M.H. advises her to put lib. sugar to four small or to three larger oranges. Crackers and Clothes A.H. (Taupiri) will be grateful for a recipe for water crackers and for cream crackers. She also asks what is tho best thing to do to restore the colour to white clothes that have become a bad colour in the washing. To Remove Goatskin Odour Another suggestion for removing the smell from goatskins, sent in by M.H. in answer to a correspondent's query, is to give the skin a good washing and rubbing with methylated spirits, or preferably ether. This will do much to get rid of the odour. Marrow Cheese Wai (Clevedon) has forwarded the following recipe for marrow cheese. The cost is negligible and it is as nico as lemon cheese, she states. Take lib. marrows, cooked and washed well, lib. sugar, 3oz. butter, juice and rind of two lemons. Put marrow and sugar into a pan; add butter, juice of lemon and grated rind and boil for five minutes, stirring all the time. This will keep like jam. ,
