LORD MAYOR OF SYDNEY
MR. A. MoELHONE ELECTED (Received October 22, 10.S p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 22 Mr. Arthur McElhone, a member of the City Council, was unanimously elected to-day as Lord Mayor of Sidney for tho remainder of 1935 in succession to Sir Alfred Parker, whoso death occurred last Friday. Mr. Arthur Joseph McElhone is a son of the late Mr. John McElhone, who was a member of tho New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Ho was born on July 22, 1868, at Sydney, and was educated at St. Aloysius College, North Sydney. Ho is an export merchant and company director. Ho has been a member of tho Sydney City Council since December 1, 1899.
