BOAT HARBOUR
WORK AT ST. MARY'S BAY COMPLETION DEFERRED / • In reply to representations urging the completion of the St. Mary's Bay boat harbour, tho Auckland Harbour Board decided yesterday, to Inform a deputation of launch-owners and yachtsmen that the board was not in a position at present to undertake the work. The board has already spent £50,000 on the boat harbour, and its completion will require a further £30,000. When completed, it is considered that it will be one of the finest boat harbours in the Southern Hemisphere, with provision for about 500 craft. It was also decided to inform the West End Rowing Club that tho board was not in a position to undertake tho work of dredging a deep-water channel to tho club's boatshed.
