Mrs. Gladys: Samson, of tho Bay of Islands, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. Dudley Kettle, of Napier, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. Hugh Kirker, Arney Road, Keniuora, will leavo this morning for Rotorua. Mrs. A. S. Doig (Ashburton) and Mrs. Birkett (Wellington) aro at the Hotel Cargen. Mrs. P. Crago, of Papatoetoe, and Mrs. James Wilson, of Pakuranga, have left on a visit to Stratford. Mrs. S. Heather (To Puke), Mrs. S. Ward and Mrs. F. Reynolds (Whangarei), aro at tho Central Hotel. Mrs. J. Black and Miss Nan eve Hanna, Ridings Road. Remuora, have returned from a visit to Wanganui. Lady Roberts, of Lower Hutt, and her son, Mr. John Roberts, who arc visiting Sydney, will return to Now Zealand at the end of tho month.

Mrs. Douglas Eden, with her tws small sons,, who arrived from Samo* recently, is staying with her'mother, Mrs. W. E. Russell, Ayr Street, Parncll.

Mrs. Russell Grace, of Wanganui, who has been visiting Auckland, left by the limited express last evening fo> Heretaunga to attend tho Dominion golf championships. A Miss Eleanor Roso, matron of the Karitano Hospital in Auckland, arrived at Lyttelthn last week by tho Akaroa from England. After spending a few days in Christchurch sho will visit her parents in Dunedin. Miss Madgo Whiteside, of Whakatauo, who left Now Zealand last April on au overseas, visit, is at present in Ireland, after having toured England and Scotland. While in tho Highlands sho visited Loch Ness, Loch Lochy and the Isle of Skye. At the Station Hotel are Mrs. 0. Renshaw and Miss B. Mo.untfort (Tauranga), Mrs. I. Parkes and Mrs. S. Weston (Whangarei), Mrs. Corrv and Mrs. G. C. Brewis (Hamilton). Mrs. T. H. Goldney (Surrey, England). r Mrs. Hain, of Aucklhnd, is leaving on September 28 by tho maiden voyage of tho Orion, wrote our London correspondent on September 21. Accompanied by Mrs. Weston Campbell, Mrs. Hain has been touring in the north of England and in Scotland.

The Girls' Club, Lichfield, held its annual concert recently, tho programme including pianoforte, elocutionary and vocal items. Presentations were made to Miss M. Kinlock, who is leaving the district. Supper was serred, after which a dance was held. Miss I. Price and Miss R. Fieklen, who ar9 members of the staff of Lady Hore-Ruthven, wife of the Governor-General-designate of Australia, Briga-dier-General the Hon. Twenty members of the Helensville Gardening Circle recently travelled to Auckland to visit the gardens of Mr. Wallace, Campbell Road, and Professor A. P. W. Thomas, Mountain Road.
