LOWER INSURANCE RATES
REGRADING IN THAMES UNDERWRITERS' REQUIREMENTS [by telegraph—own correspondent] THAMES,' Monday The Thames Borough Advisory Board received advice to-day from the Auckland Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association that, following upon, inspections made by representatives of the association and the Council of Underwriters, it had been decided to regrade a portion of the Thames borough, subject to certain requirements being carried • out. The allowed for a reduction in insurance rates in certain parts provided additional fire plugs were installed at certain places and that the Kauaeranga water-race should be examined and repaired from time to time, so as to insure an adequate water supply to the three reservoirs which were to be maintained with the following minimum quantities:—Kauaeranga reservoir, 750,000 gallons; Waiokaraka, 300,000 gallons; Waikiekie, 500,000 gallons. It was also stipulated that all fire plugs were to be clearly indicated by white painted pegs. fhe Commissioner, Mr. C. L. Grange, eaid the conditions could easily be complied with. -
