MODEL AEROPLANES
FOUR NEW RECORDS Four New Zealand records were broken at the Auckland Model Aeroplane Club's indoor flying meeting held in the Town Hall. The meeting is considered the moßt successful over held in Australia or New Zealand. The outstanding performance of the meeting was that of Mr. V. B. Gray's model, which remained in flight for 8m 38s, and broke tho Dominion senior indoor record for hand-launched spar-type machines by over two minutes. With a microfilm-covered fusolage model. Mr. Gray also broke the senior record for machines of this type rising off tho ground, when his entry flew for 5m 41 3-ss. Both the records established by Mr. Gray's machines completely eclipse the performances of Australian models of the saftie type. Two New Zealand junior records were made by Mr. R. E. Allen. He flew a hand-launched spar model for 6m ss, and a spar model rising off the ground for»sm 34 4-ss. Results are as follows:—Spar typo, hand-launched: V. B. Gray, 8m 38s, 1; R. E. Allen, 6m ss, 2; C. Shaw, 4m 445, 3. Fuselage type, rising off the ground: V. B. Gray, om 41 3-ss, 1; L. R. Ma.yn, 3m 46 2-ss, 2; R. E. Allen, 3m 7 4-ss, 3.
