SMACKED WRONG BOY
" It is often the most effective way to punish cheeky boys, but in this case you happened to smack the wrong one," remarked Mr W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Onehunga Police Court yesterday, when a fruit hawker pleaded guilty to a charge of assault. Sergeant S A, Brown said thnt on August 21) three boys were playing football in a pndock at Penrose when accused kicked the ball into a blackberry bush, upon which the boys retaliated by throwing sods into accused's cart. Accused then climbed over the fence and struck a delicate boy. Accused was fined 10s and costs and was allowed one week in which to pay.
