CONTROL OF GORSE
PROBLEM IN CANTERBURY [bt telegraph—press association] ASHBURTON, Monday Representatives of 20 county councils and other interested bodies in Canterbury, at a conference to consider a plan for ,the eradication of gorse by the planting of pin us radiata, resolved to urge on the Government the necessity for the control and eradication of gorse, particularly on the poorer lands along the Canterbury foothills. A subcommittee was appointed to formulate a scheme.
