ONLY ONE SALE RECORDED MARTHAS DONE UNCHANGED A sale of Marthas at the current price, 21s 6d,' was the only business in the mining market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Offers for Talisman Ptibbos were 4d weaker at 9s. but holders were steady. Closing quotations were:—

HUME PIPE PROSPECTS BETTER DOMINION BUSINESS Speaking lit tho annual meeting of Hume "Pipit! Company (Australia), Limited, in Melbourne, the chairman of directors, Mr. A. J. McLnchlan, said the company's progress had been duo to improved business conditions in Australia and Ni?w Zealand, and a general feeling of confidence in the future. "In view of our large increase in profits last year, an increased dividend is possible next year," he added.
