' .-T.vvkV ' ' Struck on the face by a flying; fragment of scoria a few seconds after ft charge had been fired at the I)eronport Borough Council's quany in t Church Street, Devonport, shortly after three o'clock yesterday afternoon, ft middle-aged woman, Mrs. G. Miller, who was walking down Church SJtreefc, suffered minor concussion, a fracture of the nose, and facial abrasions. After receiving assistance from borough council'employees, Mrs. .Miller, was attended by Dr. H. C. Bennett, of Devonport, and removed to home at 5 Cambria Street, Devonport. Her condition is not serious. The town clerk of Devcinporli, Mr. A. E. Wilson, Btated after the accident, that the usual precautions had bee# ' taken before the charge was fired, and manuka screens being greeted 7 around the area that was to be blasted. Apparently the charge had been, mow violent than was intended.
