NO NEWS OF YACHT
VOYAGE OF TE RAPUNGA VESSEL DUE AT RAROTONGA [by telegraph—own correspondent} NAPIER, Thursday No news has yet been received in Napier as to whether the 32ft. kstch To Rapunga, which left Auckland on August 18 last, has arrived at Rarotonga in the coarse of-her world cruise. The ketch, which is owned by Captain George Dibbern, has a crew of four, including Miss Eileen Morris, the 21-year-old daughter of Mrs. 0. E. Morris, of Corry Avenue, Napier. Mrs. Morris said to-day that she expected to receive a cablegram from her daughter as soon as the Te Rapunga arrived at Rarotonga. Although anxious to receive word from her daughter, Mrs. Morris is not experiencing any concern regarding the ultimate arrival of the vessel at her first destination on the long cruise. After leaving Auckland harbour on Sunday, August 18, the Te Rapunga spent some days in the Hauraki Gulf awaiting favourable weather for the trip across the Pacific. It is now six weeks since the ketch left New Zealand, and she should arrive at Rarotonga any day now. The voyagers are to remain several weeks among the islands of the Pacific, and will pay a call at Honolulu. Mrs. Morris does not know what the course of the Te Rapunga will be after that. "I don't think they have made up their minds yet," she said. When Captain Dibbern was in Napier early last August he said he never sailed to any sot time-table; having no auxiliary engine in his ketch, he was governed entirely by the for which reason any endeavour to sail a set course to a time-table was almost impossible. The Te Rapunga is a thoroughly seaworthy craft, 'having stood up to severe tests in various parts of the world.
