POSITION OF CLERK
MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH Advice that he did not have th« statutory power to order a magisterial inquiry into the position of the MountEden town clerk, Mr. H. Gribble. has been received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Sir Alexander Young, by Mount Eden ratepayers who made the suggestion to the Minister. The Minister has also replied to the request of a recent meeting of Mount Eden ratepayers that legislation should be introduced during < the present session providing for a right of appeal for local body servants similar to that enjoyed by public servants. Sir Alexander states that he does not thins it possible to introduce such legislation in the present session.
