DOCTORATE OF LAWS
The conferring of the degree of doctor of laws upon Dr. R. G. McElroy, of Auckland, by the Senate of the University of New Zealand, recalls the few occasions upon which this distinction has been granted. The first student to receive thus degree was the late Dr. F. Fitchett. He was followed by the Rev. W. H. West, Sir J. G. Findlay, Dr. John Innes, Dr. W. D. Milne, Dr. C. P. Knight, I>r. H. D. Bamford, Dr. W. H. Cunningham and Dr. G. Craig.
