PACIFIC AIR SERVICE
HOPE OF ESTABLISHMENT' "A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY" [by TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Friday Reference to the proposal of Pan, American Airways to institute an Vi? service between San Francisco and Auckland was made in the House of Representatives to-day by Mr. W. J« Broadfoot (Government —Waitomo)„ who expressed the hope that any teck nical or other difficulties that lay in the way of the establishment of the service would be satisfactorily over* come. "It has been to the detriment o| New Zealand," said Mr. Broadfoot, "that it is such an isolated country and this proposed service opena up wonderful prospects for the future. At present a person on the other side of the world who wishes to visit New Zealand has to spend about three month* in travelling. With an air service of this kind in operation, / however, & visitor could do a trip through the Dominion in three weeks and it would be a great inducement to people with money to spend it in New Zealand."
