HAURAKI DRAINAGE
[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES, Friday At the Hauraki United Drainage Board meeting to-day it was resolved to take action for breaches of the board's by-laws concerning damage done to the board's drains by cattle and pigs. There were six settlers concerned, all of whom have been warned previously. In another case the board is going to prosecute for recovery of the damage caused, amounting to £l4The chairman, Mr. H. H. Hicks, reported on his interviews with the Ministers of Lands and Employment on the board's request for a .subsidy on the repair work required to the main outlet drains through slipping caused by the recent wet weather, and also the raising of the stop-bank on the Piako River. A favourable hearing was given, but further information was sought, and the chairman and clerk were instructed to follow up the application liy letter and to give additional information in support of the request- * ~
