Notes and Notions
A message frm London states that India is about to enter the motormanufacturing field. A native Indian company just formed, proposes to establish a plant near Calcutta, and to make provision for an annual output of 15,000 cars and lorries. It is said that the iron and steel industries of Jamsliedpur and the loather fnctories of Cawnpore are among the largest con-
tributors to tho £375,000 already subscribed. Tho businesses of Wolsoley Motors (1927), Limited, and tho M.G. Car Company, Limited, are being acquired from Lord Nuffield by Morris Motors, Limited. When it becomes necessary to grind tht) valves of your engine the simple act of placing u small coil spring on tho valve stem underneath tho valve head will cause tho valve to lift automatically when tho pressure of the grinding tool is l'oloasod. This is necessary to allow the grinding pasto which has worked to tho side of tho valve head during the grinding section, to fall ready for further action.
