USEFUL DUTCH DOLL
Tho Dutch doll in. tho picture is not just a toy by any means. She has a very useful purpose, which is to act as a doorstop when it is necessary to keep a door from closing. First make a bag of any strong material in some dark colour. Into this bag put an ordinary brick, which lies flat at the bottom of the b,-ig. Stuff tho remainder of the bag well with clipped up bits of inater-
ial of any sort. Press the doll into the bag, feet first, until her feet touch the brick. Then gather the top of the bag round her waist. Dress the doll next in a skirt of gaily coloured cretonne, a bodice made of ribbon, or a strip of plain stuff, and a pocket-handkerchief pleated up for an apron. You are sure to be pleased with your little Dutch lady now, who makes a splendid present or a good article for sale at bazaars.
