ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD [from our own CORRESPONDENT I HAMILTON, Friday A most successful year was reviewed at the annual meeting of the Frankton United Cricket Club, the club having won the South Auckland Cricket Association's senior D competition for the 1934-35 season. Appreciation of the services of Mr. M. A. Molloy, who relinquished the secretaryship after a term of 11 years, was expressed by several speakers. The election of officers resulted ns follows Patron, Mr. A. H. Tompkins: president, Mr. E. V. Stace; club captain, Mr. A. Dnvics; secretary, Mr. W. J. Tiller; treasurer, Mr. G. Absolum: management committee, Messrs, F. T{. Price, K. Davpy, A. Kemp, J. M. D»mpsey and W. Adamson; club delegates, Messrs. \V. J. liller and G, Absolum. At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Enst Cricket Club, a satisfactory financial position was revealed. Appreciation was expressed of the efforts of the many people who had helped the club during the past year, especially the Hamilton Referees Association. After considerable discussion it was resolved 1o enter n senior A and a senior B team in the Hamilton Association s competition. The following officers were elected-.--Patron, Mr. W. Holtby: president, Mr. S. Cooper:- vice-presidents, Messrs. 1?. Johnston, W. H. Skeet, J. Comer. A. Morris, W. Dixon and S. Godfrey: secretary and treasurer, Air. Arthur; club cuptnin, Mr. A. Hubbard. PIAKO ASSOCIATION [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] MATAMATA. Friday At the adjourned annual meeting of the Piako Cricket Association, it was decided to apply to the South Auckland Association for affiliation as the Matamnta District Cricket Association. The Piako Association has control of a wide area, including Matnninta. Morrinsville, Te Aroha and Putaruru districts, and the opinion is held that tlie area is too unwieldy for control by one body. In the event of the application being granted, it is expected that the Piako Association will be resuscitated to include To Aroha and Morrinsville. Messrs. F. Montague, J. R. Whelan and G. G. Griffiths were appointed ns selection committee to select the team to play agninst the M.C.C. team when they visit Matamata. It was decided that the standard sJoz. ball should be used by all clubs during the coming season.
