PRISON FOR A JEW
GERMANY "OFFENDER " WARSAW, Sept. 25 A Jewish merchant named Halberstadt was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment to-day for "offending" Germany. He had returned a letter from a German firm unopened, after writing on the envelope: "1 refuse to deal with Germany as long as Herr Hitler rules." The German authorities protested to Poland, with the result that Halberstadt was arrested.
