CHEQUE TRANSACTIONS
LADY MAKGILL ACQUITTED
LONDON. Sept. 25
Lady Alakgill, wife of Sir Donald Makgill, 12th baronet, who was charged with uttering 212 worthless cheques, has been acquitted. The Common Sergeant, in summing up, said: "It is not criminal to be reckless, foolish and stupid. "You may think that such is the snobbery of the ago that people like titled customers on their books, and that some banks allow a person like* Lady Makgill to deal with her account in a manner not permitted to others."
