TE AWAMUTU TOURNEY TITIRANGI PLAYER'S SUCCESS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Thursday A record number of entries was received for thu second annual tournament held on the- Te Awamutu links yesterday, and somo good ncores were recorded. Tho following are tho results, with some of the best scores:— Open amateur championship, 3G holes, won by G. Tallis (Titirangi), 152. H. V. Holmes also returned a card of 152, but Tallis had tho best score in the afternoon round, and so won tho championship, winning outright tho Tui Cup. Other good scores verb:—M. Otway (To Awa), 156; J. Sterrift (Te Awn), 157; R. Wallace (Te Awa), 157; J. R. Sutton (Te Kawa), 161; J. Walker (Te Awa). 162; E. York (Te Awa), 162: C. Blundell (Te Awa), 163; J. Dmsdale (Te Kuiti), 163. The 3(Vhole medal handicap was won by J. Walker (To Awa); 162, 36—126. The next best was I. Jones (Te Awa), 165, 38—127. The senior morning medal over 18 holes was won by H. J. Holmes (Te Awa), 75, 7—68. The junior morning medal was won by I. Jones (Te Awn), 80, 19—61. The senior bogey was won by G. Tallis (Titirangi). 2 up. The junior bogey was wpn. by. D. Christio (Korokonui), 2 lip. A coiiye record was made by C. Blundell last Saturday afternoon during a fourball match, with a gross score of 70, equalling tile standard scratch score of the course.

MISS J. HORWELL'S FIFTH WIN

TIMARU, Thursday
Playing at the top of her form Miss Jean Horwell, the South Canterbury golf representative in the Siuth Island team to play against- the British team nest week, defeated Mrs. W. A. Scott 7 -up and 6, in the final of the Timaru Ladies' Golf Club championship. This gave Miss Horwell her fifth successive win in tho event.
HAMILTON LADIES V. CAMBRIDGE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday In an inter-club match at St. Andrews to-day members of the Hamilton Ladies' Golf Club defeated a team from the Cambridge Ladies' Club by 11 games to two, three matches being all square.
