CHARGES FOR ELECTRICITY BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETS [bv telegraph OWN correspondent] TAURANGA. Thursday The question of chargem for electricity was again discussed by tho Tatiranga Borough Council, and on the motion of the Mayor, Mr. L. R. Wilkinson, it was decided that the question of reducing charges for electric lighting and heating be referred to the Electricity Committee to report to the next meeting.
The petition for tho establishment of a miniature golf course on the reserve northward of Monmouth Redoubt was discussed, and the council decided to ask the petitioners to submit a plan of the layout of the course. • The question of improving municipal land fronting tho Waikareao estuary was referred to the Town-planning Committee for a report. Tho Mayor said he understood that the council's contract to supply electricity to tho Government would terminate in September. 1936, and ha thought that the council should consider the matter. .The question was referred to the Electricity Committee for a report.
Tho council unanimously agreed to support the application of the ttotorua Bus Company, Limited, for a new passenger service between Tauranga and Hotorua when it comes before the Transport Licensing Authority.
