APPOINTMENT AT THAMES [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] THAMES, Thursday Confirmation by the Minister of Mines of the appointment of Air. G. S. Lambert, M.Sc.. as director of the Thames School of Mines, was received by the secretary. Mr. W. S. Clark, yesterday. The Under-Secretary of Mines wrote stating that, in accordance with the recommendation of the council, the Minister had approved of the appointment, subject to the usual probationary ]>eriod of six months. The council is authorised to make temporary arrangements until the new assistantdirector commences his duties on November 1. *
