WAR'S OPPONENTS
anglo.french workers LONDON, Sept. 24 In pursuance of a resolution passed in 1926, declaring that the union should refuse to support any Government which resorts to war, the National Union of 13oot Operatives has ordered its members not to make boots for the Italian Army. The General Confederation of Labour at Paris passed a resolution in favour of economic sanctions against an aggressor. The Secretary-General, M. Joubaux, emphasised that the majority agreed that military sanctions were undesirable.
ITALIAN SOLDIERS
ROME, Sept. 24
The Italian Cabinet lias passed a number of important decrees affecting the army. They include an arrangement allowing soldiers in East Africa to marry by proxy, " as the forces will be absent for a lengthy period and will not obtain furlough." Thus they will be enabled to legitimise illegitimate unions.
