WOMEN'S DIVISION
CONFERENCE IN ROTORUA Nearly 60 delegates attended a conference of branches of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union held in Rotorua yesterday. Airs. Cliff Allen, of Tirau, presided. Alany matters of and general interest were discussed. Remit 3 to the provincial executive were passed. These urged the institution by the Government of a pension scheme for the benefit of wives and families of invalid husbands; the free treatment by tho Health Department of tho children of parents unable to provide treatment ordered by school inspectors; and the re-appointment of a district nurse for the European population of Rotorua under a scheme subsidised by the Government. Closer cooperation between women's organisations throughout tho world was also advocated.
