INFANT SUFFOCATED
MOTHER'S DISCOVERY SAD CASE AT PUKEKOHE [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Wednesday The tragic discovery that her infant son, aged four and a-half months, had suffocated through turning over in his cot, was made to-day by Mm. A. B. Cressey, of West Street, Pukekohe. Mrs. Cressey put the child out in the sunshine on the verandah about 10 a.m. She continued with her household duties for half an hour, and then found the child lying face downward. She called to a neighbour, who telephoned Dr. H. S. Douglas, who lives only a short distance away.
Meanwhile Mrs. Cressey picked up her son, an only child, and hastened townrd the home of the doctor, whom she met on the way. Efforts were immediately made to revive the child, and were continued for some time without success.
An inquest is to be opened to-morrow
