DRAMA LEAGUE FESTIVAL
WINNING AUCKLAND TEAM OTHER PLAYERS SUBSTITUTED Owing to the inability of the Winchenden players, winners of the Herald trophy for the best performance at the festival of drama arranged by the Auckland branch of the British Drama League with Mrs. Helen Parker's "Room 53," to travel to Stratford to compete in the elimination festival on luesday, the Auckland University College Department of English has been substituted.
This company won the Mirror trophy for the best original play produced at tho festival with Mr. J. A. S. Coppard's " Sordid Story." Produced by Professor A. Sewell, tho cast comprised Miss C. Upton, Miss H. Coates, Miss B. Cahill, Miss J. Miller and Miss E. Johnston, and Messrs. P. Holmes and C. I). Banks. Tho team will leave for Stratford on Sunday night. On arrival the members will bo billeted. The national final will bo hold at Hastings on Thursday next.
