YOUNG MAN'S OFFENCE r " I do not think the Court is called upon to do anything further about him; he is convicted and discharged," said Mr. Justice Callan when James Harry Duke, motor mechanic, aged 18, was brought before him in the Supreme Court yesterday. Six months ago Duke had boen convicted of an indecent assault and ordered to come up for sentence within six months if called upon. Mr. Aekins, who appeared for him, said the terms of probation had been faithfully kept. Unfortunately he had been before the Magistrate's Court in June for theft. He was earning £1 a week and giving 15s to his mother. His Honor said the last offence went back to February, 1934. He was satisfied the young man had been the victim of misfortune' very largely, and he would be discharged.
