Mrs. Broadbent, of Auckland, visited Kaitaia last week and was the guest of Mrs. E. C. Matthews. Miss M. Black returned to Thames last week after a visit to Kaitaia. Miss M. Cate, of Kaikohe. has returned from Auckland. Miss C. O'Neill, who has been in Taihape for some time, has returned to Kaikohe. . Mrs. W. C. Raikes. of Titirangi, has returned from a short holiday at * a j\Lss A,. Graham has returned to Okaihau after a three months holiday spent in Tasmania, Melbourne and Sy Mrsf'jiiggs, of Auckland, is visiting 1 Kaitaia Anglican Ladies' Guild held a successful "bobbin tea at which time was devoted mainly to competitions. The hostesses were Mrs. L and Mrs. H. Mcintosh, Mrs. W. Subritzky, Mrs. J. T. B. Taaffo and Mrs. B. V creamer. The committees of the various queens in the carnival contest organised to raise funds for the Kaitaia Anglican and Romm Catholic churches during the past 'veck arranged various functions in support of their respective queens. Miss Avery Carr s committee held two dances, the first being at Oruru. Competitions were won b\ Misses Giirton and Forsythe and the competition dance bv Mr. Gar ton and partner. The second dance was at lo Puhi, where, in spite of advcr^ n thcr conditions, there was a full attendance of dancers. . At Victoria Valley the Kaitaia Nigger Minstrel Troupe (the Kentucky Crooners) held an entertainment m aid of Miss C£,rr's campaign. Miss D Mcintosh's committee held a flag five hundred evening at Kaitaia. The winners were Mrs C- x Vnrd Mrs H. Mcintosh, and Miss L. Ford, the travelling prizes going to Mesdames H - Wilkinson and Smeaton and Miss E Geard. The competition was won by Mrs. T. Gallagher. .
