SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS
At the combined meeting of the vocal and instrumental circle of the Society of Musicians, held on Friday evening, a programme of their own selections, local compositions, and Maori music, was presented to a largo number of members and guests. The items were:—Pianoforto solos, " Tahitian Danco l(Craxton); "Nocturne" (Grieg); "Sonata Pathetique" (Beethoven); " Island Spell " (Ireland); " Anecdote " (Vogrich); " Humorcsquo .(York ' Bowen); " Fantasio Impromptu" (Chopin); played by Misses Edna Woolford, Connie Martin, Olwyn Rodgerson, Netta Simich, Pearl Wallace and Mrs. C. F. Fowler. ■ Miss Ida Walker sang " Cattlemen, and "Bird Song," by Miss Louise Sexton, "Lullaby" by Miss Jo Easton, and "To Mother " by Mrs. Dundas Edmonds. " Sea Love " (Mary Brett), was sung by Miss Edna Smith. Mrs. Harold King, the guest of the evening, accompanied by Mrs. W. H. McKmney, also sang, after illustrating by a lecture a selection of original Maori songs. .Other songs were "Nursery Rhymes j(Pearl Curran); "My Lovely Colia Plunro),; " Little Red Lark " < Irish folk song); "The Shepherd's Song (Gounod); "Will o' the Wisp" (Spross): sung by Misses Lillian Ken®®dy, Constance Johnson, Mary Murphy, Mary Enwright, Lillian Malton.
