f * GOOD MILE GALLOrS KILTOWYN, PSYCHOLOGIST ETCETERAS SURPRISE SPRINT Weather and track conditions -were good at Ellerslie on Saturday, when some excellent gallops were performed on the course proper, with the poles out 25ft. The best gallops were thoso of Psychologist and Kilto'wyn, who both registered good time over a mile. Racing Lady sprinted half a mile freely in 52 3-os and On Parade beat Pasha and Royal Appellant over the same distance iri 52 4-ss. On Parado worked in improved style. Tidalia and Enlightenment wore together over five furlongs in 1.6 4-5, and Teddy Boy and Express both worked nicely over seven furlongs in 1.36. Rerepai jumped away in front and led Zane Grey over half a mile in 545. Tybalt gave Air Lassie a start and was up with her at the end of seven furlongs in 1.35 4-5, Air Lassie's time being 1.37. Professional was timed over three furlongs in 39 3-ss. Kelly, lightly weighted and going easily at the end, ran a mile in 1.48, after taking 53 3-5 for the first halfmile. He did his work very well and could have done better had ho been ridden out. ,

Roman Mascot moved evenly over seven furlongs in 1.40. A Useful Five Furlongs

Gaj Marigold was a shade in front of Tray Bit at the end of five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. a useful effort on the part of both. ;•« '

ltingshot and Barn Dance Tvere on terms over six furlongs in 1.24, without being ridden right out. Courthaven ran six furlongs in 1.26 and Persian Lady recorded 41 2-5s for the last three of four furlongs.

Gay Broney ran the last five of six furlongs in 1.5 4-5, and did his work extremely well. Imamint was not doing her best to run five furlongs in 1.9 3-5, and Tea Chat tired at the end of a circuit in 2.13 1-5.

Etcetera surprised by beating Fleetwind over half a mile in 51 4-5, the best of the morning over the distance. Sir Ilomeo was in front of Gay Defence, with the latter going easily, at the end of five furlongs in 1.8 2-5. Caliente was a shade in front of Sir Abb over six furlongs in 1.22. Psychologist, very lightly . weighted, went fast to record 51 2-5s for the first half of a mile, which he completed in 1.45 4-5, the best time of the morning. Supreme Ruler sprinted five furlongs in 1.9, and Prince Abb and Arabesque beat Vilma over three furlongs in 40s. King Mestor's, Gallop

King Mestor and Jewelled Girdle were practically on terms at the end of six furlongs in 1.20 3-5, a good gallop for hacks.

Kiltowyn ran the first half of a milq in 52s and the full distance in 1.46. He was hanging on well at the end, and taken all round, it was the best gallop of the morning. Te Kapia and a Speardance—Mountain Ore gelding ran three furlongs in 45 2-ss ? and Green Patch beat Marjory Daw over half a mile in 52 3-ss.

, Baroscope, alone, ran half a mile in 53 3-ss, going easily all the way. Gascelle ran a circuit in. 2-14, 1-5, being assisted over the last five furlongs by Primak, whose time was 1.11 1-5. " "

Ruling King (Stanway) and Chief Emerald (Turvey) gave a good display over four hurdles. The latter has shown steady progress in his fencing. ■ .Mountain Bruce (Stanway) and Glenhaupo (Turvey) jumped four hurdles fairly well, except that Glenhaupo rapped the last one.

The middle grass, which provided good going, was used for galloping at Takanini on Saturday and the best effortwas recorded by Enge, who ran the last mile of a mile and a-quarter in 1.43. He was assisted over the last seven furlongs by Nun Nicer and they came home together in 1.30, the last half-mile in 52 2-ss. Enge is splendidly fit after his. winter racing and Nun Nicer is also doing well. Ebb and Flow ran the last four of six furlongs in 555. Anion jumped away in front of Glenacre and led him over half-a-milo in 50 2-ss, Glenacre taking 51 l-ss.

Flood Tide was two lengths in advance of Red Hawk at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1 1.4 2-5. Thangilamba got a break on Ballymoney at the jumpoff and led him oyer five furlopgs in 1.3 2-5, Ballymoney's time being a shade better. !
