BANQUET AND REUNION

WESLEY YOUNG MEN There was an excellent attendance of about 120 members and old boys at the annual banquet and reunion of the Wesley Young Men's Institute in the Wesley Hall, Pitt Street, on Saturday night. The president, tho Rev. E. T. Olds, presided. In proposing tho toast of "the W.Y.M.1." the Rev. W. Walker referred to the fine opportunity available to develop all-round manhood. The Church would be failing in its duty if it did not cater for the social as well as the spiritual needs of its young people. The general secretary, Mr. G. 0. Riddell, in replvinp, reported on tlio institute activities during the year, and mentioned particularly tho tennis club and the junior boys' club. Other toasts honoured were: "Church and school," proposed by Mr. A. S. Thrift and replied to by Rev. E. T. Olds, minister of Pitt Street Methodist Church; "kindred associations," proposed by Mr. A. W. Bryant and replied to by i\lr. C. R. Renner, of tho All Saints' Church Cadets; and "absent members," proposed by Mr. E. H. Halstead. Enjoyable items were contributed by Messrs! T. H. Ellison, A. Collings, W. H. Elliott, J. C. Martin, and community singing was led by the Rev. Olds. The reunion closed with "Auld Lang Syne" and the Doxology.
