ANOTHER BARROW TRIP
LUKEY AND SCHOFIELD BLUFF TO CHRISTCHURCH [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] WELLINGTON. Saturday Messrs. L. G. Lukey and J. Schofield. who recently made a barrow trip from Auckland to Wellington, leave for the South Island on Monday to do a 400mile trip from Bluff to Christchurch. They will start from the Bluff post office on September 23. Mr. Lukey said to-day that ho wanted to make the trip harder than the previous one, and that he aimed to do 20 miles a day, instead of 16, getting to a town each night The longest stretch will be from Oamaru to Waimate, a distance of 30 miles. A detour will be made from the main road to include Wyndham.
