PROTECTING TROUT FRY
DESTRUCTION OF EELS Wellington anglers hare sot themselves to wage war on eels, which they consider the chief enemies of trout fry. At Upper Hutt it is proposed to place a bounty on the eel's head, and vigororis measures are being taken to reduce the number of these fish. That 600 eels, amounting to over half a ton weight, were recorded to have been caught by members of the Wellington Angling "Club during the . past season, besido others which had gone unrecorded, was the statement made by the president, Mr. It.
