PROGRESS OF A FIFTEEN MILLION POUND UNDERTAKING: SEVEN - MILE HARBOUR BRIDGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATEb The bridge is to run from San Francisco across the harbour to Yerba Buena Island and thence to the city of Oakland. This aerial photograph, taken last month, shows the huge pylons and cables of the San Francisco section of the bridge. Beyond the island cap be seen a completed portion of the second section, with the city of Oakland m the background. Berthed at one the wharves in the foreground is the liner Monterey, in port after a passage from Australia and New Zealand.
