SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST COLD SOUTHERLY WINDS The Government meteorologist issued to the Heka:,d last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Easterly winds changing to southerlies, strong to gale force. The weather is likely to be dull and misty with genera, rain, heavy ia places, Tsmperatureu becoming cold. Seas rough. WEEK END WEATHER Auckland.—Fine sunny weather and a moderate easterly wind prevailed on Saturday, hut yesterday conditions were very changeable. Cloudy, threatening weather and a fresh north-east-erly wind in the morning was followed early in the afternoon by continuous cold rain which culminated in a cyclonic storm and u torrential downpour for a short period. During the storm the wind changed suddenly to the southwest. and then decreased to a light breeze. Afterwards the weather was again fine, b it the conditions continued unsettled, the wind varying between south-west and north. After falling ,£isin. in 16 hours, the barometer registered 29. loin, yesterday afternoon and then remained steady until last night, when a further sli&ht fall was recorded. The temperature at 4 p.m. yesterday was 57deg.

Dunedin.—-There was a continuation of fine weather on Saturday with bright sunshine and a' light easterly breeze. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. After bright sunshine early in the morning yesterday the sky became overcast and there was a. steady drizzle for the remainder of the. day. There was a light westerly breezo. The maximum temperature was 49 degrees. The barometer was fulling.
