CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
METROPOLITAN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held its usijal monthly shoot on Saturday afternoon at Mangero in fine weather. The first seven-target eye-opener was won outright bj; R. Mason (12yds), with the possible. Six divided second money with six broaks as follows;—W. E. Parry (12yds), J. C. Whitney (13yds), F. J. Hazard (13yds), P. Newcomb (13yds), A. N. Bull (12yds). N. McCallum (Whangarei), (12yds). The chief match was keenly contested. No shooter secured the possible of 15, but J. C. Whitney (13yds), and F. J. Hazard (13yds), tied with 14. In the shoot-off Whitney eventually missed on the 37th round, leaving Hazard the winner. G. F. Keene (15yds), A. N. Bull (12yds), P. Newcomb (11yds), N. McCallum (12yds), L. F. Ramsey (20yds), and W E. Parry (12yds). divided third money with 13 breaks. A soven-target gimcrnck resulted in a win for R. Mason (11-17 yds), with the possible. E. T. Wilflon (13.18 yds), J. C. Whitney (11-17 yds), N. McCallum (11-17 yds), and E. Bush (11-17 yds), divided the balance of the stake.
