PROGRESS AT WHAKATANE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] "WHAKATANE, Sundny The annual meeting of the Knox Presbyterian Church, Whakatane, was held yesterday, the Rev. IT. J. Lilburn presiding. Mr. William McFarland presented the report of the church session, which reviewed a successful year's work. The church treasurer, Mr. F. B. Cutler, submitted the financial statement, which showed an increase of members contributing upon the number last year. The report of the board of managers was presented by Mr. K. S. Schofield. The Missionary Association, Ladies' Guild, Sunday school and Bible classes showed good progress during the year. The chairman intimated that this month the church would celebrate its 21st anniversary as a separate charge, and it was resolved that special services be held on Sunday, September 29, to mark the occasion.
