Ardell, Dominion organiser of the National Political Federation arrived in Auckland on Saturday morning. He will return to Wellington early this week. ■ Mr. Justice Smith,, who han been presiding at the Supreme Court sessions in Auckland during the absence at Hamilton of Mr. Justice Callan, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. Ailan Mulgari, literary editor of the Auckland Star, who ban been appointed supervisor of talks to the Broadcasting Board, will take up his new duties in Wellington toward the end of this month. The Rev. E. G. Jansen left Welling-' ton in the Monowai on Friday en routei'or China, where he will be attached 1,0 the Presbyterian Church's mission at Canton. Mr. Jansen was until recently stationed at Te Awamutu. Blr. J. Priestley Thomson has joined the staff of the State Forest Service in Palmerston North. Mr. Thomson is u well-known athlete, having held the three-mile university championship of New Zealand for two years. Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., has been appointed Judge of the Assessment Court for the town district of Glen Eden. Mr. W. A. Bishop, of Titirangi, and Mr. F. 3. Lane, of Glen Eden, have> been appointed members of the Court. Mr. R. B . Bartley, general manager of the Auckland Electric-Power Board, and Mr. N. M.
