Mrs, E. Calvert, of Hamilton, and Miss E. M. Wood, of Marine Parade, Napier, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. Wood. Mrs. E. Harrison, of Mill Road, has returned after a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. W. C. Coote and family, of Apirana Avenue, are spending the remainder of tho school vacation at their seaside residence, Reotahi. Mrs. W. G. Whitmore, of Hatea Street, has left on a holiday visit to Auckland. Mrs. Miles Young, of Takapuna, is visiting Whangarei, and is the guest of Mrs. H. Langlands, of Hatea Street. Miss D. Tudehope, of Ohaupo, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Tudehope, of Maunu Road. Miss A. Pollock Smith, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. K. H. Emanuel, of Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs. D. J. Goodwin, of Bank Street. Miss E. M. Evans, of Auckland, is holidaying in Whangarei, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. W. T. Surman, of Kamo Road. Mrs. S. R. W. Tovey, of Kent Road, is on a holidav visit to Auckland. Mrs. C. Colson, of Bassett Road, Renuiera, is visiting Whangarei, and is the guest of Mrs. J. Mackie, of Mill Road. /- Mrs. R. Neison is visiting Auckland. A successful dance under the auspices of the Otaika Basketball Club was held in the local hall last week. The building was pleasingly decorated, the club colours, green and black, forming an attractive background to the gathering. Mesdames Lord and Steedman supplied extras. Supper was provided by the committee and basketball team and was served by the girls.
