RESIGNATION OF REFEREES CLUB UPHOLDS MR. H. MOORE Having been informed by Dr. T. H. Pettit and Mr. L. Brighton that they could not withdraw their resignations as water polo referees, the Auckland Swimming Centre accepted the resignations last evening with regret. The centre also received a reply to the resolution it carried at the previous meeting, that the Mount Eden Club be informed that the centre would P'efer it to appoint another delegate in place of Mr. H. Moore. The Mount Eden Club stated it strongly upheld Mr. Moore. Reference was made to the plucky performances of Misses Lewis Grey and Kathleen Bull, of Auckland, in the three miles harbour race for the Kellermsn Cud. contested in the course of the New Zealand championship meeting last February. The centre agreed that a special trophy to the value of two guineas be awarded to Miss Grey for being the first lady to finish, and that a certificate should be presented to Miss Bull. It was agreed that a letter of sympathy should be sent to Mr. D. Mulvihill. a life member of th© centre, who is in hospital, where he recently underwent a serious operation. f In view of his services as the centre s educational officer, it was decided to recommend Mr. D. Saundera for the New Zealand swimming blazer.
